Beginner Riding Clinic
Your day will start at 8:30am sharp at CM Backcountry Headquarters. Once you arrive we will go over the days schedule and safety procedures for avalanches and injuries. If you are needing gear we will get you suited up at the office before heading to the mountain. Before leaving the parking lot on our adventure for the day we will have a riders meeting and make sure everyone is comfortable with our game plan.
Once out on the snow the guides will do an assessment of the skill level of the riders in the group, from there that will determine the level of intensity the day will bring. The amount of knowledge that you will gain from this riding clinic will be a substantial gain to your snowmobile skills. We will be teaching you skills that will help you enhance your capabilities to navigate off trail with ease and confidence. Some of the techniques we will be teaching you during this clinic are; wrong foot forward, basics of side hilling, looking forward and reading terrain, techniques on how not to get stuck, throttle control, and much more.
Along with all the riding skills we will be teaching you, we will also be teaching you avalanche awareness and safety. All our riders will be required to have avalanche gear such as a beacon, probe, and shovel. If you do not have any of the gear above or an avalanche air bag system and wish to rent one we do have those available. Avalanche gear is a must in backcountry snowmobiling.
